Excursions
TO DISCOVER BUNYOLA
Bunyola , in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana, is one of the best destinations in Mallorca for hiking. Its mountain paths, trails, valleys and streams form natural landscapes worthy of a postcard.
Below we suggest hiking routes for all levels through which you can discover enclaves with a lot of charm, such as the Freu jump or the Alaró castle.
Walk through Bunyola
Hiking routes
FOR ALL LEVELS
Comuna de Bunyola
The forest of Sa Comuna de Bunyola is ideal for hiking. On its paths, you will find hiking routes for all levels through which you can discover the nature of the mountain range. Some of these itineraries have a great historical value thanks to the ethnological remains you will find along the route: old bread and lime ovens, charcoal shacks, silos...
Castell d'Alaró
From the small village of Orient you can walk to the Castle of Alaró, one of the three "roquer" (on the rocks) castles in Mallorca. Once at the top you can walk among the remains of the castle and enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Serra de Tramuntana.
Raixa and Raixeta
Starting from the public farm of Raixa, and going into wide paths, you can reach Raixeta, an old farm built in 1750. Although only the ruins remain of Raixeta, you can see original elements of the estate, like the coat of arms of the owners of the house, the Despuig family. The excursion to this old estate is very simple, so it is ideal for families.
Sat des Freu-Orient
The natural waterfall of Salt des Freu and the beauty of the surrounding oak forest make this one of the most beautiful hikes on the island. To get to this idyllic enclave you have to pass through the village of Orient, once there you go up a path of vineyards to the pass of s'Estaló, the highest point of the route. Continuing the route, and whenever it is rainy season, you will soon hear the water of the stream, which tells you that you are close to your destination.
Puig de s'Alqueria (Sa Gúbia)
This route will take you to the hill of s'Alqueria, also known as Sa Gúbia. An excursion that is worth doing for the beauty of the route. Heading down mountain paths, oak groves and olive groves you will reach the top of the hill. There we recommend a stop to contemplate the views of the mountains and rest on the stone benches.
