A WALK THROUGH THE VILLAGE

Surrounded by the Serra d’Alfàbia and the Puig d’Alaró, it is one of the smallest towns in Mallorca, Orient. This village – located in the North of the municipality of Bunyola – is recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest for its great historical and landscape value.

There is only one way to discover the secrets of the Orient: step by step. A walk through the village will allow you to enjoy beautiful mountain landscapes and the architectural charm of the 14th and 15th centuries.

POINTS OF INTEREST

At the highest part of the village stands the church of Sant Jordi , built in the 17th century on the remains of an oratory, and the old school .

From here we recommend going down to the public washrooms , where it is very easy to imagine what life was like in the olden days in this mountain village.

Another mandatory stop is on the main street, where there are the only two restaurants in the Orient , unique places to discover the most authentic flavors of Mallorca and enjoy beautiful views.

FROM THE ORIENT

The natural beauty of the Orient surroundings invites you to take pleasant excursions and long walks. A few kilometers from the village you will find surprising enclaves.

The Salt des Freu

From Orient you can reach Salt des Freu in a simple 25-minute excursion, an incredible natural waterfall surrounded by a wonderful forest of oaks, pines and olive trees. During the rainy season, Salt des Freu becomes, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca.

Castle of Alaró

Another essential excursion from the Orient is the one that will take you to Alaró Castle. Located at the top of a hill, from the ruins of this castle you will have indescribable panoramic views that you can accompany with a delicious coffee or a piscolabis in the refuge you will find at the top.
