Ethnological itinerary
An itinerary that will allow you to discover the corners with the most history of Sa Comuna de Bunyola. The hiking route has as points of reference three ethnological groups, in which traces of silos, lime kilns or charcoal shacks, among other elements, can be found. Remains of a clear heritage from the past of the Bunyolins, who used the forest as a source of resources.
Bunyola - Rock of Honor
Starting from the village of Bunyola and entering mountain paths, you reach the top of the crag of Honor, located at 819 meters high. This is the highest point of the Commune and, therefore, the best place to enjoy a spectacular view over the natural setting of the Serra de Tramuntana. The way here is full of charming corners, like the house built in a cave or the old silos and cisterns.
Puig de na Marit and Cova de s'Aigua
Ideal hiking route to discover the flora and fauna of Sa Comuna de Bunyola, such as the royal kite, the black vulture or the characteristic Balearic horsetail. The first point of the route will take you to Puig de na Marit, where you can rest after the climb. Those with a good sense of direction will be able to reach the s'Aigua cave from here, in which there are remains of ceramics.
Circular Route in Sa Comuna
This circular route offers an overview of the forest of Sa Comuna, as well as some of the ethnological remains of the area, such as the silos or the charcoal shacks. The route is of low difficulty and allows you to branch off at different points, such as the Penyal d'Honor, the highest point in the entire Sa Comuna de Bunyola.
