Bunyola, in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, is one of the best destinations in Majorca for hiking. Its mountain paths, trails, valleys and streams create postcard-perfect natural landscapes.

We propose hiking routes for all levels through which you can discover charming enclaves, such as Salt des Freu or Alaró Castle.

Comuna de Bunyola

The forest of Sa Comuna de Bunyola is ideal for hiking. On its paths you will find hiking routes for all levels, through which you can discover the nature of the mountains. Some of these routes are of great historical value due to the ethnological remains you will find along the way, including old bread and lime ovens, miners' huts, silos, and more.

Alaró Castle

From the small hamlet of Orient you can walk to Alaró Castle, one of Majorca's three roquers (rock castles).

Once at the top you can walk among the remains of the castle and enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Serra de Tramuntana.

Raixa and Raixeta

Starting from the Raixa public estate, and following wide paths, you can reach Raixeta, an old estate built in 1750. Although only the ruins of Raixeta remain, you can still see original elements of the property, such as the coat of arms of the owners of the house, the Despuig family. An excursion to this ancient property is very simple, making it ideal for the whole family.

Salt des Freu-Orient

The natural waterfall of Salt des Freu combined with the beauty of the surrounding holm oak forest makes this one of the most beautiful excursions on the island. To reach this idyllic spot, you must pass through the hamlet of Orient, and then climb up a vineyard path to the Pas de s'Estaló, the highest point on the route. In the rainy season, you'll soon hear the stream, a sign that your destination is near.

Puig de s’Alqueria (Sa Gúbia)

A hiking route that will take you to Puig de s'Alqueria, also known as Sa Gúbia. This hike is well worth doing for the beauty of the route.

You will reach the top of Puig through mountain paths, holm oaks and olive groves. Here we recommend you stop to rest and admire the views of the mountain range.
